Limitless intensity: the new R8 Spyder V10 combines impressive performance, sporty elegance and the fascination of open-top driving. The 5.2-litre V10 FSI engine performs at 397 kW and propels the R8 Spyder V10 from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds with an open top. Added to this is the impressive sound backdrop of the double-flow exhaust system with its trapezoidal tailpipes. The R8 Spyder V10 needs no words to be impressive: with a fascinating interplay of clearly contoured edges and flowing forms, it impresses at first glance. Everything about the R8 Spyder V10 shouts out dynamics - the three-dimensionally shaped Audi single-frame in honeycomb structure, the new sideblades and the striking rear clearly emphasise its features. The new R8 Spyder V10 is shorter, wider and lower than its predecessor - and is therefore even more dynamic on the road.

The fascination of open-top driving.

Opening up new perspectives: the soft top of the R8 Spyder can be opened up fully automatically and comfortably up to a speed of 50 km/h. By pressing a button, the soft top will be stowed away under the completely redesigned convertible top compartment cover in just 20 seconds. It is available in black, brown or red. The driving and wind noise are significantly lower than the previous model. With the roof open, a wind deflector made of synthetic fabric ensures that the air turbulence in the head area can be kept to a minimum. Experience the intensified freedom of open-top driving.

Born on the race track.

The ground under control: Audi uses its expertise acquired in motorsport to bring innovative technologies into its production vehicles. For example, the R8 Spyder V10 brings almost 50 percent of all parts of the new GT3 race car R8 LMS into its design. The permanent quattro four-wheel drive ensures outstanding traction, enhanced driving dynamics and greater safety whether on the road or the racetrack. Depending on the weather and road situation, the quattro drive can be modified by the new performance mode. This is brought about by the R8 Performance leather steering wheel with multifunction plus and four operating units on board, and includes the modes wet, dry and snow.

The essentials: The cockpit

So that you have everything under control: the interior is consistently focused on the driver. Therefore, all functions are easily controlled via the standard R8 sports leather steering wheel or the optional R8 performance leather steering wheel with multi-function plus and two or four operator units. The standard Audi virtual cockpit displays all relevant information in high resolution 3D graphics on a 12.3-inch monitor. For an impressive sound experience, speakers from the Bang & Olufsen Sound System are integrated into the R8 sports seat or R8 body-contoured seat headrests. Each seat contains two speakers - for the best acoustics beyond the 200-km/h mark.

The 5.2 FSI engine propels the R8 Spyder V10 with 397 kW (540 hp) from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. The maximum torque is 540 Nm. From this state, the 200 km/h mark is broken in 11.8 seconds. The propulsion ends at a speed of 320 km/h. The power of the V10 engine can not only be felt but also heard: the striking engine sound makes an impressive acoustic statement.
